They shouldn't be. But they are because to demand otherwise is to "curtail" religious expression. And in the world today, "religious freedom" trumps all other liberties. Just look at the recent brouhaha over Geert Wilders.

I have a Blog on blogspot that has been idle for a couple of months, though I plan to revive it with a slight shift in direction.
But recently, I searched backl at something I wrote on Davis Berlinski, in this case which also discussed Michael Behe. As it happens, I had accidentally posted twice on that day. Whaen I scrolled down to the earlier post, I saw that you had left a comment that I had missed and moved on from.
You mentioned having asked Behe a question about common ancestry on Hank Hannegraaf's program. Taking a few hints from your blogs, I've guessed to are in Britain. I am not convinced that saying, "many of them (atheists) have a sectarian and fundamentalist psychology and behaviour" constitutes "hate speech" Steven. It may be a bit of an overstatement but the fact is that a good number of atheists, a subset of atheists that I have no qualms about describing as "fundamentalist atheists", or indeed "Atheist Supremacists", do in fact engage in sectarian and quite "fundamentalist" behaviour. Richard Dawkins is but one example of an evangelical sectarian and fundamentalist atheist, if not an outright Atheist Supremacist Spokesperson.

There is no question that *some* atheists are quite hostile towards God believing people. Some atheists can be properly described as dangerous as well. I find the concluding bit about keeping atheists at "a reasonable distance from you and your loved ones" most ironic in light of the fact that that pompous ASS Richard Dawkins wrote in the Sunday Times about taking his family all the way to Austria to see the 1999 total solar eclipse, because he did not want to risk encountering any Druids in Cornwall where he had originally planned to go to see the eclipse. Come to think of it, that is a pretty good example of Richard Dawkins' own sectarian and fundamentalist psychology and behaviour. . . N'est-ce pas Steven?
