Should Britain apologise to the Pope? After all, we were trying to kill him during the war, when he was serving in an anti-aircraft unit, and we were bombing him.

Britain apologise? That depends on whether we now think we were at fault in "trying to kill him during the war, when he was serving in an anti-aircraft unit, and we were bombing him."
The official position is probably that the rules of war are not the same as the rules of peace.
Is he asking for an apology or something? I think he needs to apologize for being a communist.
