Do Christians enjoy rational debate?
NT Wright gave a lecture at NT Wright on Can a scientist believe in the resurrection of Jesus?
The organisers set up a discussion forum at Discussion forum
I put some questions about NT Wright's speech, quoting what Wright said, and quoting the Bible.
Unable to answer these questions, the organisers simply deleted them. They left only one of my posts, and deleted the rest.
They apparently aren't even able to answer the questions in the post they did leave.
That is how confident Christians are of the arguments put forward by their best scholars.
Christians have to delete and censor people who point out the apologetic tricks that their best scholars resort to.

I went to the forum and saw your post. There's still a substantial number of questions there. BTW, do you think you can post here your deleted questions, so we can see what topics NT Wright (or the organizers) is afraid of? Thanks!
Almost all my posts were deleted.
I did not keep copies.
There was one nice post where I quoted Wright producing all sorts of Biblical allusions and echoes and quotes from the Gospel resurrection stories, despite his claiming in the lecture that these stories are almost devoid of any allusions to scripture.
Something similar hapenned to me when I tried to respond to a bad apologetic argument on Ben Witherington's blog recently.
What does it say about their faith, when their only response to honest skepticism is: "Shut up!"?

i think dereks response to why your response was not posted was reasonable.. and your exchange with Derek showed i believe that his position was quite reasonable and yours to be somewhat unnecessarily or unreasonably skeptical.. i definitely thought he got the better of you there.. congrats to both of you for a discussion held with respect for each other..
Who is Derek?
Steven . . .
He's refering to a discussion over at my place.
The only problem with abtruth . . . is Derek never (not even once) offer up a reason why my comment was not published, which tells me two things:
1- He never read the thing . . .
and
2- He 's just rooting for his own team blindly (which I don't object to at all by itself—but in combination it's transparent).
With this in mind, I don't place much value in his (abtruth) brief comment as a result.
peace
I enjoy your blog, Steven.

Hi. I can't promise any answers — I'm just a Christian bookseller, not a great theologian... but I can assure you that provided any posts you submit are not blatently offensive or abusive, they won't be simply deleted from my blogs, should you care to join in any of the discussions.
Let's face it, what kind of bookseller would I be if I slammed the door in my customers' faces??
And if I do delete any, I will say why.
Fair enough?
