Should Britain apologise to the Pope?

Should Britain apologise to the Pope? After all, we were trying to kill him during the war, when he was serving in an anti-aircraft unit, and we were bombing him.

Militant atheism

A quote today from USA Today '"Despicable outrage," Dawkins howled, describing himself as "incandescent with rage" as he called for a letter writing campaign against the pope to the papers and British Broadcasting Company.'

Militant atheists write letters to the Times.

No wonder the Pope likens Hitler to the worst extremes of atheism.

The Pope , Nazis , Jews and Atheists

The Pope has recently said the Nazis were against Jews.

I remember the encyclical 1937 'Mit Brennender Sorge' with its veiled references to Jews as the people who crucified Jesus, and its praise of the Old Testament for recording how Jews strayed from God.

'But side by side with innumerable touches of greatness and nobleness, they also record the story of the chosen people, bearers of the Revelation and the Promise, repeatedly straying from God and turning to the world.'

'....he denies his faith in the true Christ, such as He appeared in the flesh, the Christ who took His human nature from a people that was to crucify Him.'

Why did the Vatican order anti-Semitic statements to be read out in all Catholic churches in 1937 Nazi Germany?

Burn a non-Muslim in the Koran Day

Chapter 111 of tke Koran is about burning a non-Muslim.

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish.
Abu Lahab will die and be plunged in flaming Fire. His wife will have on her neck a halter of palm fiber.
His wealth and gains will not exempt him.
He will be plunged in flaming Fire,
And his wife, the wood-carrier,
Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre.

Is it as wrong to burn a person as it is to burn the Quran?
